About The Cosplay Photography Awards

The Cosplay Photography Awards is an annual global competition created to celebrate the craft, creativity, and dedication of cosplay photographers. It exists for one purpose: to give proper recognition to the people behind the camera – the artists who shape the visual identity of our community yet rarely stand in the spotlight.

Submissions are open to photographers worldwide and completely free. Each participant may submit up to two original photos to compete in the category of their choice. All judging is performed blind: the jury never sees who submitted the work. Images are evaluated purely for their artistry, technique, and storytelling.

A diverse, invited panel of experienced cosplay photographers forms the jury each year. They review each eligible photo using clear criteria, including creativity, composition, lighting, environment, interaction with the model, and the quality of editing.

This event is intentionally designed without hype-driven voting systems – no popularity contests, no follower counts, no algorithms. Just skilled professionals carefully assessing your work.

The Awards feature multiple categories each year, culminating in the Ultimate Picture of the Year, honored with a custom-made physical trophy. The winner is announced during a live online ceremony streamed on Twitch.

The Cosplay Photography Awards is a no-profit initiative built to uplift underrepresented creators, highlight remarkable work, and strengthen the global cosplay photography community. The long-term vision is to build something prestigious and lasting for our scene – an annual celebration on the scale of your favourite gaming awards show, but entirely dedicated to the art of cosplay photography.
